$248 misdemeanor theft in maryland?

I recently found myself being dumb enough to be coaxed into helping someone steal from a department store. Aside from the obvious fact that I will be paying restitution, I am more worried about how this would effect me getting a job. I have yet to go to court because I was given a uniform criminal citation. I was never taken to the PD station but the citation is a CJIS 3-5010 and it has a $500 fine attached to it. I would like to know, will a misdemeanor like this come up on a background check when I apply for a job. Aside from that, with this is a misdemeanor is there any way that I could lower the crime or have it removed from my record at some point in my life?
