Jailbroken ipod touch 2g HELP?

Okay so I have a jailboken iPod touch 2g. I jailbroke it with Quickfreedom (Tysiphonehelp). So I was downloading like fiveirows or something on cydia and then when I hit restart springboard, it just had the pinwheel and didn't do anything. So I forced my iPod off (hold power and home ons) and then after that my iPod would only show the boot logo whenever I turned it on.... How do I fix this, without using iTunes? Like I downloaded some SSH stuff but I never really used it... but my friend has it on his computer so I'm wondering if I can recover my stuff and fix my iPod. THANKSSSSS ^^
