What am I suppose to do in the botanical gardens?

In Arkham Asylum I'm at where these doctors are stuck in cages and I have to free them them by knocking out the operator first without having the other thugs see me. I already opened the vent and went through and went up and went out the second vent. i'm stuck idk what to do after that.
